After gusts of wind of 30 knots for more than 30
days in a row, it seemed highly improbable that anyone would be fishing
on June 1st -- opening day of the 2011 Red Snapper season. But good
fortune prevailed and a hardy gang sailed forth on the newly painted and
upgraded No Sabe, 38 foot Bertram. Capt. Paul Bitner brought us to some
great fishing grounds where a limit of snapper (to 14 lbs) were
harvested. Also, part of the catch two large cobia (to 65 lbs) and two
kingfish (to 40lbs).
Fishing is great and both the Triple Double and No Sabe are primed and
ready for the high seas! Remember that the Snapper Season is short and
ends July 18th.
